Recently, we updated the formulation of our best-selling rejuvenating serum called Phyto-Infusion Facial Serum. We replaced Acai and Milk Thistle with Blueberry and Flaxseed, a decision we approached with care and intention.

Another skincare company secured a patent covering the specific combination of Acai and Milk Thistle in topical formulations. Although we had been working with these botanicals long before their patent was granted, they asserted rights over the pairing and sought a significant percentage of revenue not only from this serum, but from other products containing those two ingredients together.
Rather than entering into a costly and restrictive licensing agreement that would ultimately affect pricing, accessibility and our independence, we chose a different path: thoughtful reformulation. Protecting the integrity of both our formulations and our business has always taken priority.
Importantly, this was not simply a replacement; it was an opportunity to refine and elevate.
Blueberry is exceptionally rich in polyphenols and anthocyanins, delivering potent antioxidant protection against environmental stressors while supporting visible brightness and skin resilience. Flaxseed offers an impressive profile of omega-3 fatty acids and lignans that help reinforce the skin barrier, soothe inflammation and enhance overall skin vitality.
